JBB1-ST & JBB1-WH E-bike wheel holder recall - 1 November 2024 - 16 December 2024
A defect has been identified in the wheel holder component of the JBB1-ST and JBB1-WH bike racks. The wheel holder may bend under e-bike loads, causing bikes to detach while driving. Register below to receive your free replacement part.
Stop using the rack immediately if carrying e-bikes
The wheel holder may bend under the weight of heavier e-bikes, causing bikes to detach from the rack while the vehicle is moving. This poses a risk of death, serious injury or property damage to other road users. Incidents have occurred. Standard pedal bikes are not affected.
Check if your rack is affected
All JBB1-ST and JBB1-WH racks sold in 3, 4, 5 and 6 bike capacities are affected when used to carry e-bikes. Your rack’s model number is printed on the sticker located on the inside of the frame rail near the hitch coupling arm.
Not sure if your rack is affected? Register below and include your serial number or order number - our team will confirm.
What to do now
Stop carrying e-bikes immediately. Standard pedal bikes within the rack’s rated weight capacity are unaffected — you may continue using the rack for non-electric bikes while your replacement part is in transit.
Register using the form on this page to receive your free replacement wheel holder. Parts are dispatched in registration order. You’ll receive a confirmation email within 1 business day.
Install the replacement wheel holder when it arrives. Full fitting instructions are included. Installation takes approximately 10 minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver — no specialist tools required.
