So I have been running with my JB Racks 5 bike rack for about 6 months now and thought it is a good time to come and provide an honest review of my experience with it so far.
I bought the 5 bike rack and shed stand package to use for my 2 beach cruiser bikes and 3 kids bikes which is mounted on an SUV and also behind my caravan. Shipment was slightly delayed in the mail and packaging looked like my kids did it but no impact on the products inside which was great to see. Heavy duty components were all straight and in the correct quantities. I really liked the idea of the shed stand with castors to allow for storage and moving around a full rack of bikes easily.
After unboxing the first challenge was the instructions. Now, I know there is a video but it is filmed from about 3 metres away with no commentary so you have no hope of seeing what bolts or spacers are being used for each part. You will need the pdf instructions and boy oh boy, these are HORRIBLE to say the least. Hand drawn circles around 3D cad drawings are so hard to follow. If the guys at JB could do 1 thing to improve this product it would be to get some professional instructions done up and include them in the box.
Once built the rack and stand are good but doesn't work with kids bikes under 20 inch. You'll need the additional $70 wheel adapter - points lost because that stings with a family of 5.

We’re sorry to hear about the challenges you faced with the assembly instructions. We’ve taken this feedback to heart from several customers and have updated our assembly video to provide clearer, more detailed guidance. Regarding the weight of the rack, our 5 bike rack weighs between 24-30 kg (53-66 lbs), depending on the size. While this is lighter than many vertical racks, the weight is necessary to ensure structural integrity and durability. To make fitting easier, we recommend wheeling the rack over on the garage stand and lifting it close to the hitch, minimizing the carry distance.
We’re sorry for the oversight regarding the kids’ bike compatibility and the additional cost of the wheel adapter. We’ll pass along your suggestion for better upfront communication about this. Additionally, we’re looking into improving the paint durability on the wheel holders to prevent flaking and rust, please email photos of this to support@jbracks.com so we can replace them free of charge.

The instructions are worse than an ikea instructions on how to build it. There are no numbers or anything identifying each part. The instructions are extremely vague on how to assemble the rack. Had to use the pictures to copy and assemble this way. Found that the holes for the top rear "T" bracket did not line up with the other holes. I had to drill the holes slightly larger and off to the side to make them fit the bracket.
Overall, I am happy with the rack and being able to lower the rack and open the rear of the car. It is easy to use that even my son can mount his bike on the rack.

We had some shipping problems and a lot of communication with customer service. But, they came through and I got my rack. It took about a month. They did offer me a free accessory as an apology.
