Easy to put together with great instructional videos. Four bikes, all of which are different sizes and all sit well on the rack.

Does its job as described. I think an essential part of the kit, you cannot effectively operate a 6 bike rack loaded with even 4 bikes (unless you are pretty strong) without this damper.
Was this helpful?JB Racks3 months agoThank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear the damper is proving essential for your 6-bike rack, making it much easier to handle. It’s a great addition for smoother operation! Enjoy the ride and feel free to reach out if you need any support!

I first installed the brackets in the 4 bolt holes that the brackets fit perfectly. However found that the strut would be almost fully extended and next to no movement. Was informed to move the brackets down to the 2 holes, to have the brackets only held up by 2 bolts. Having moved the brackets down, with the struts being not extended whilst upright works perfectly now. My son can now put his bike on the rack by lowering the rack and then lifting the rack upright.

When folding the rack down to load the bikes the strut does makes it easier to bring the rack back to the vertical position. It is however really difficult to bring the rack down. I have watched a video of a guy climbing onto the rack using his weight to bring it down vs just trying to pull it down. It was so hard I was convinced that I had made an error with the assembly. I typically just load the bike without dropping the rack. I do often drop the rack to access tools, pump or other things from the back of my truck. So it is nice to have the strut for raising the rack.
The wheel basket is also not as deep as other brands that I have seen, so when the rack is in the down position it is a little difficult to keep the bike wheel in the basket. I found that you have to set the wheel in the basket then lean it into the position that it will be in when the rack is up for it to stay. If I were making any design edits I would make the wheel basket deeper to make this method of loading easier.
Was this helpful?JB Racks2 months agoThanks for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that the strut makes raising the rack easier, but we understand your concerns about bringing it down. The resistance is designed for stability and durability, but we’ll take your experience into account for future improvements.
Regarding the wheel baskets, we appreciate the suggestion. Ensuring a secure fit while loading is important, and we’ll pass this feedback along to our design team. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach us at support@jbracks.com. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! 🚲💪
